A few things to know.
What is Screen Magician?
Screen Magician is a Chrome extension that screenshots tabs and turns them into a labelled comparison image — side by side, stacked, or as a grid — or exports them as separate labelled WebP files. It also annotates the result with arrows, boxes, text, numbers, masks, and crops.
Does Screen Magician send my screenshots to a server?
No. It has no server, no account, no analytics, and no sync. Captures, settings, and annotations live in your browser profile on your disk, and the extension makes no network requests at all.
How many captures can a set hold?
Ten. Each capture keeps its own label, band colour, and annotations, and the whole set exports together in the layout you chose.
Which browsers are supported?
Chrome 116 or newer, and other Chromium browsers with Manifest V3 support such as Edge and Brave. The side panel needs a browser that supports Chrome side panels.
Where do exports go?
To your Downloads folder under screenshot-magician/, or to a folder you pick once and the extension remembers. Copy to Clipboard puts the render straight on your clipboard, and Copy for AI adds a JSON description of every shape for pasting into a model.
What permissions does it need?
Active tab, clipboard write, downloads, context menus, and the side panel — none of which trigger a Chrome warning. Capturing any tab is optional and only granted if you ask for it.
